Writing Scenario #4

Original Scenario:

A student writer must make a case about a controversial issue, and she knows her audience is entrenched on the issue. She isn't likely to be able to change minds but needs to be able to find some kind of middle ground to making moving forward on the issue a possibility.

Type of Argument:

In this situation, the writer faces a difficult task of working to convince an audience that seems to be quite entrenched in its opinions. In this case, because her best bet is to find a middle ground, the Rogerian argument would likely fit her needs best.
