Try It Out: Brackets
The paragraph on the next page includes quotes from research on zombies, but the author of the paragraph needs to add brackets around certain words or phrases within the quotes to let readers know the information has been added for clarification and is not a part of the original quote.
After reviewing the passage, click to proceed to the activity. Click on the brackets from the punctuation options located in the box at the top of the passage, and then place them in the correct places in the paragraph.
TIP! Look at the quotes to see if you notice any words or phrases that don't fit well in terms of flow but would be words that would add extra information for clarity.
