Now that you have had a chance to see how you can analyze your assignment rhetorically, it's time to try it out. Using your own research essay assignment as your guide, take some time to write about your purpose, audience, and voice.

Does your assignment specify anything in particular? Make a short list and, in a few sentences, describe what you think your purpose for writing might be, who might be in your target audience, and what voice or tone you plan to take in order to make a good impression on your audience.
