Students of all ages continue to study his poems and short stories well over one hundred years after his death. His famous poem, The Raven, and short stories, such as The Tell-Tale Heart and The Fall of the House of Usher, continue to be taught in high school and college courses. While Poe’s work has made him famous, his interesting life has certainly added to the fascination many people have with him. His life was filled with death, as he lost his wife to tuberculosis, and his mother died when he was just a small child.
