Using Booleans in a search engine.

Another way to narrow your search is to use the AND operator between words. The more words you enter using this operator, the narrower your search. For example, apple AND pie returns 103,000,000 pages in Google; apple AND pie AND Mom returns 8,030,000 pages; apple AND pie AND Mom AND Thanksgiving returns 1,620,000 pages; apple AND pie AND Mom AND baked returns 2,220,000 pages; and so on.

It's important to note that using the operator OR will increase the number of pages returned. For example, apple OR pie returns 1,860,000,000 pages; apple OR pie OR baked returns 1,940,000,000 pages.
